Priory Hospital Kemple View is looking to recruit a Teacher to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours based on site.

Located in Blackburn, Lancashire, Priory Hospital Kemple View is a 90-bedded hospital, offering level 2 rehabilitation and secure services for adult males. We support people with a mental health condition and/or a personality disorder.

What you’ll be doing

In this post, you will support the delivery of meaningful learning opportunities for patients within a secure mental health setting. Working as part of the Occupational Therapy team, you will design and facilitate educational, vocational and life-skills programmes that support recovery, independence and progression. You will also lead on, develop and coordinate the established Recovery College. You will facilitate partnership working with community partners, including local education providers, focusing on co-produced and co-facilitated learning opportunities that support recovery, personal development and empowerment for patients.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Essential:
    • PGCE / teaching/training qualification or equivalent
    • Professional qualification in health or social care or a related subject at degree level (BSc, BA)
    • Understanding of recovery-focused practice within mental health services
    • Experience of delivering education, training or group facilitation
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience of working in social care, healthcare or a support environment
