Main duties of the job
- Provide high-quality general medical services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care.
- Manage and support patients with both acute and chronic conditions.
- Conduct health assessments, screenings, and preventative care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient interactions accurately in line with practice protocols and legal requirements.
- Participate in regular clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to teaching and mentoring junior staff and medical students.

Job responsibilities
- To work autonomously providing general medical services for Patients of Priory Medical Centre registered with us on a permanent, temporary or immediately necessary basis.
- To deliver a safe, competent and acceptable standard of medical care, taking part in the day-to-day activities of Priory Medical Centre including surgery, paperwork and home visits where appropriate.
- Maintaining appropriate records to ensure continuity and quality of care for Patients. These must be accurate, and where possible, avoid jargon to ensure Patients understand the content if viewing their clinical notes.
- To collaborate with other GP Partners/employees and Practice staff of Priory Medical Centre on Practice development to achieve all clinical performance targets and directed or local enhanced services for Priory Medical Centre or primary Care Network (PCN).
- Working to promote Priory Medical Centre positively and engage with Patients in order to improve service delivery.
- To be involved in Practice development, identifying service changes and developments in line with clinical needs locally.
- To develop these as part of the NHS Long-Term Plan and other national guidance.
- Maintaining records of appointments, financial transactions and other administrative duties.
- To maintain skills to the required professional level and undertake such training and development as may from time-to-time be required to maintain personal competency.
- Be up to date with mandatory training and share evidence of this for compliance.
- Participate in all activities required by CQC registration.
- Have a zero tolerance to all forms of abuse.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Medical Degree.
- Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (or equivalent in training if approved by the Royal College of General Practitioners).
- Certificate of MRCGP or working towards this qualification.
- Full GMC Registration.
Experience
- Demonstrable ability to relate well to challenging Patients, carers, relatives and staff.
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work under pressure/in stressful situations.
- Effectively able to communicate and understand the needs of the Patient.
