Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care within an agreed framework by assessing, planning, implementing, and reviewing care in partnership with patients and their families while acting as the named nurse.
  • Monitor patient progress, respond to changes in condition, and contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to care.
  • Prioritise and delegate duties effectively, including acting as nurse in charge when required, to maintain a safe environment.
  • Build positive relationships with patients, relatives, colleagues, and visitors, responding professionally to enquiries, suggestions, and complaints.
  • Support newly qualified staff as a preceptor, participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice, and maintain ongoing professional development in line with preceptorship and revalidation requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Medicines Management policies, Priory Group policies, and the NMC Code at all times.
  • Join the team on the Eating Disorder Unit and play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

Requirements

  • All roles are subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland. Priory will cover the cost of a DBS check.
