We offer mental health support for both adults and young people, including access to specialist therapy and psychiatry. Main duties of the job
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Undertake psychiatric and external assessments for clients referred to the unit to determine the appropriate level of care to be provided, under the direction and supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist, and work with the unit multidisciplinary team to ensure delivery of the Care Programme.
- Prepare discharge summaries, reports and other associated documentation as necessary e.g. for CPA meetings, as directed and supervised by the Consultant Psychiatrist.
- Participation in learning activities and supervision.
- Participation in Clinical Governance activities, and account for contracted hours utilised in research, Continuing Professional Development and other non-clinical duties as necessary and in a timely manner.
- Working effectively with colleagues to ensure that clients have access to appropriate care.

Job responsibilities
Priory Hospital Barnt Green is looking to recruit a Specialist Doctor to join the team on our PICU Ward. This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours a week, working Monday to Friday.
Person Specification Requirements
- This role requires an MBBS (or equivalent medical qualification), along with current GMC registration and a licence to practise.
- The successful candidate will also be expected to be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for CPD and to have completed an appraisal or RITA within the last year.
- The consultant should hold a CCST or CCT (or equivalent) in a relevant area of Psychiatry and have experience working within inpatient settings supporting individuals with significant mental health difficulties.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the role requires building trust and confidence with patients to ensure treatments and interventions are effective.
- The ability to communicate clearly and collaboratively with relatives, GPs, Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs), care coordinators, and acute trusts is also a key part of the role.
