Main duties of the job
- Play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.
- Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfil the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Support 10‑bedded female PICU and rehab, with full support from a speciality doctor; participate in 2nd on‑call Consultant rota.
- Supervise the process of referral and admission, including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
- Offer a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.
- Contribute to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contribute to the development of service strategy.
