Priory Hospital Norwich is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.
Main duties of the job:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patient's named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
Job responsibilities:
Set in the Norfolk countryside a mile outside the town of Attleborough, Norfolk, Priory Hospital Norwich is a 24/7 mental health inpatient provision, which provides care for males and females, split across wards which care for differing levels of acuity. We accept referrals from across the UK, and support the NHS with patient flow, by providing a pathway of care, suited to individual needs, including medium to high risk patients.
Requirements:
- A qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 18 months of post-registration experience is required, along with active NMC registration and completion of a preceptorship programme.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional standards, and be able to demonstrate ongoing post-registration continuing professional development.
- They will show a positive attitude and a commitment to change, service improvement, and high-quality care.
- The ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to practice is essential, as are excellent verbal and written communication skills.
