Beacon House is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time role at £27,202.5 per annum with day shifts from 9am to 5pm.
Main duties of the job:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
- Take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- Provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
You will have gained experience in a similar setting, supervising and leading others. While a formal qualification is not required, you should be willing to complete a Level 3 qualification in Team leadership and management with Priory.

Beacon House, part of Priory, is a welcoming 17-bed residential service based in Melton Mowbray. It is home to Flourish, our innovative, therapy-led addiction treatment programme, which offers tailored support for a wide range of addictions in a calm, comfortable setting.
Job responsibilities:
- Supervise colleagues, lead team meetings and support your peers with their performance and professional development.
- Lead support planning and act as point of contact in the absence of site leadership.
- Assist with the management of site petty cash and client funds.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in a similar setting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature.
- Empathy, understanding and patience.
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
- The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges.
- Competent in verbal and written English.
- Experience of drug and alcohol treatment is a bonus; training will be given.
