We have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager to join our team on a 6 month fixed term basis, with possibility for this to increase. This post is key to supporting the business in relation to its relationships with external Local Authority and NHS commissioners. You will manage a broad portfolio of contractual matters and will be an independent, self-starter with strong legal and commercial skills and a keen eye for detail. Working closely with operational, commercial and business development teams, you will play an important role in supporting strategic growth and managing contractual risk. This is a remote role however travel to attend head office and sites is required.

Main duties of the job

  • As Contracts Manager, you will lead on the negotiation and management of contracts with NHS and Local Authority commissioners, supporting the establishment of new Block, Framework and Individual Placement Agreements.
  • Working collaboratively with Commercial Finance and Operational teams, you will negotiate contractual arrangements and annual fee increases, ensuring agreements are appropriately documented, implemented and reported.
  • You will maintain an effective contracts database and provide contract reporting to support executive decision making and business strategy.
  • You will also act as an internal expert on contractual matters, supporting sites, operations and business development teams with contractual disputes, risk mitigation and compliance.
  • In addition, you will support tender and bid activity by reviewing contractual terms and identifying potential risks within Healthcare and Adult Care opportunities.

Person Specification

  • Strong knowledge of Contract and Public Procurement Law, alongside experience of working within the UK Health and Social Care sector.
  • You will have a strong understanding of NHS and Local Authority commissioning, including Integrated Care Boards, Provider Collaboratives and Foundation Trusts.
  • You will have excellent commercial awareness, including a good understanding of finance principles, together with strong organisational and analytical skills.
