The Priory Ogilvie Court is looking to recruit Support Workers to join their team. This is a full time, permanent contract. Full Time, 37.5hrs p/week (X3 Shifts every week including alternating weekends) Shift Times: 08.00 - 20.30. Must be able to drive to site as no public transport links nearby / do not align with shifts. Must have full Manual UK licence for over 3 years as you will need to drive company site vehicle.

Ogilvie Court is located in Earls Colne, near Colchester. It offers residential support for 25 people with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, and other associated needs. We can also support people who are on the autism spectrum and those who have physical disabilities. Our team are dedicated to providing the people we care for with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

Main duties of the job:

  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.

Person Specification:

  • Must have full UK Manual Driving Licence for more than 3 years.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3.
  • This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
