Woodbourne Priory Hospital is looking to recruit a Ward Manager- Fixed Term- 4/6 Months to join the team. Our specialist addiction facility, The Manor Ward, is where our team deliver exceptional levels of treatment and care to our patients. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours.

Priory Hospital Woodbourne, located in a peaceful and picturesque suburb of South West Birmingham, is a specialised addiction rehab centre, providing expert treatment for a range of addictions, including alcohol, drugs and support for behavioural addictions.

What you\’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Ward Manager- Fixed Term- 4/6 Months, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Ensures that all members of the nursing team receive clinical supervision, appraisal, CPD requirements, and complete mandatory training.
  • Addresses shortfalls in development and ensures that training and performance issues are addressed.
  • Recognises and rewards positive performance by the nursing staff, commensurate with their roles and responsibilities.
  • Acts as a highly visible role model, mentor and leader, creating a culture that promotes learning, development, inquiry and professionalism, celebrates achievements and shares learning to the benefit of the ward, hospital and wider division.

What you\’ll bring to the role

The ideal candidate:

You must be registered with the NMC or HCPC, with at least two years\’ supervisory experience in a relevant care setting and appropriate ward-specific experience. You should be a trained and current assessor/supervisor, computer literate, and committed to ongoing clinical, managerial, and leadership development. Experience in clinical audit or service improvement is desirable, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities. Previous experience supervising nursing or care staff is also essential.
