Priory The Old Rectory Trowbridge has an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our team. We provide a rolling shift pattern to our team with a combination of early and late shifts, or longer days and sleep in duties. Experience is not essential and we will support training and development at all stages of your employment with us.
Our support staff work across our 4 residential homes in the Newtown area of Trowbridge, providing support in all aspects of people's daily life. Old Rectory Trowbridge, Wiltshire is a residential service supporting 20 adults with a range of needs. It is located in a town setting and is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes and Trowbridge railway station nearby.
What you'll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
- We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
- To support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
- Complete daily administration including updating person centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
- Maintain professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
- Through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, contribute to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Essential for the role: NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification.
- GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths.
- N.B. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have NVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify.
- The following experience would be beneficial: Experience of working in a related environment is desirable.
