Overview

The Priory Highfields is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time, permanent role.

  • Full Time, 37.5hrs p/week (Spread across X3 12.5hr shifts)
  • Shifts: 08:00 - 20:30 (Working 1 weekend every 3 weeks)
  • Salary: £12.60 p/hour

Highfields is located in Chasetown, Staffordshire. We offer residential support for eight males and females who are autistic or have a learning disability. Highfields is on the edge of a suburban area, close to a local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We want to provide person-centred support to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for, enabling them to have a healthy, happy and independent life, within a safe and welcoming home.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you\'ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents\' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you\'ll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
