Support Worker

Salary: £13.20 P/H + £1,000 Joining Bonus (T&Cs Apply)

Permanent: Full Time

Shifts: 07:30am -20:00pm & 19:30pm – 08:00am (Days, Nights & weekends Across 7 Days)

*Full Driving licence required for this role

Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate. With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

We’re looking for someone who is kind, caring, understanding and passionate about providing great individual and personalised care. We provide all new colleagues with training to support people and their needs so previous experience in a care role isn’t essential but would be beneficial.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you\’ll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

The ideal support worker will:

* Be reliable, friendly and caring to help our residents achieve their everyday goals (including personal care)

* Be able to support in house activities and hobbies

* Be attentive and inspire our service users to achieve their goals.

* Be resilient and help manage some behaviours that challenge

* Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care

* Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes

* Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals

* Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff

* Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities, Have a great sense of humour.

The Vines is located in the beautiful town of Crowborough, East Sussex. It offers residential support for 12 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and progressive neurological conditions (PNCs). This includes Parkinson’s disease, stroke and Korsakoff’s syndrome. We are on a private road, in a semi-rural location.

Disclosure

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
