Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards) required

Located just a 10-minute walk from Stroud town centre with excellent local train and bus links, The Lighthouse is a welcoming 5-bedded residential home dedicated to supporting young females aged 13-18 experiencing mental health difficulties. We provide a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where young people are empowered to make progress across all aspects of their lives.

What you’ll be doing

As our Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, strategic development, and operational performance of the home. Working alongside a highly supportive senior leadership team, you will shape a child-centred, trauma-informed culture and mentor a dedicated team of staff to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Quality & Safeguarding: Maintain high-quality care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies while embedding robust safeguarding practices.
  • Ofsted Readiness: Lead the home through regulatory inspections with a drive to achieve and sustain ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings.
  • Team Development: Recruit, inspire, and retain a high-performing care team through active supervision, development, and strong leadership.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective working partnerships with local authorities, social workers, and external multidisciplinary teams.

What you’ll bring to the role

Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or currently working towards it).

Experience: Proven track record at Management or Deputy Manager level within a children's residential care setting.

Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks and children's safeguarding legislation.

Approach: A values-driven, resilient leader with a deep commitment to trauma-informed and therapeutic care principles.
