The Lighthouse has an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker with an NVQ level one to join our team.


Lighthouse is a specialist residential and rehabilitation service for individuals with complex mental health needs. Conveniently located just outside Stroud town centre in Gloucestershire, Lighthouse benefits from local bus connections and access to nearby rail services in Stroud, with good road links via surrounding routes.


What you'll be doing


You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients



  • Prepared to take on additional responsibilities subject to service need and competence achievement such as Phlebotomy

  • Participate in regular ward meetings and attend other meetings as requested.

  • To assist in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products, not medicines.

  • To assist in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhere to infection control policy and procedures at all times.

What you'll bring to the role


Essential for the role



  • Minimum 2 years as a Healthcare Assistant in a similar environment

  • Educated to a minimum NVQ 1 or GCSE’s in Mathematics and English

  • Has completed the Care Certificate
