Sessional Therapist

Partner with Priory

Thinking about moving into private practice but not sure where to start? Or already working independently and looking for the security of regular referrals? Partnering with Priory allows you to build your practice with confidence — without the stress of going it alone.

Why join Priory as a Sessional Partner?

  • Steady patient flow – referrals provided, so you can focus on therapy rather than marketing
  • Credibility & trust – work under the nationally recognised Priory brand
  • Clinical and admin support – access to clinical space, billing, and administrative support
  • Flexibility – choose the days and hours that suit you
  • Team connection – the independence of self‑employment without professional isolation

Key Responsibilities

Priory Hospital Southampton is seeking a Sessional Eating Disorder Therapist to join our team. This is a self‑employed, sessional role offering flexibility around the centre’s needs and your availability. You will deliver one‑to‑one therapy, supporting clients to achieve their treatment goals, either face‑to‑face in our modern clinical environment or online.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What you’ll bring to the role

We welcome applications from therapists able to offer one or more of the following modalities: CBT, Integrative Therapy, EMDR, TF‑CBT, Family Therapy, or other specialist modalities.

  • Hold professional registration with HCPC / UKCP / BABCP / BACP / NCPS / BPC / ACAT / ACP (as appropriate)
  • Have a minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification experience
  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgement and excellent communication skills
  • Be confident working within clinical governance frameworks, including digital systems, concise clinical notes, and attendance at risk management meetings

Accreditation: Accreditation with a relevant professional body is required. In certain circumstances, we may consider applicants who are working towards accreditation, provided this can be completed within 12 months of appointment.

Job Benefits

What we offer in return

Starting out or expanding in private practice can feel daunting. Partnering with Priory removes much of that burden while preserving your professional independence.

  • Competitive sessional rates with active patient flow
  • Autonomy – you manage your own caseload
  • Flexible workload – typically 8–15 sessions per week (more or fewer by choice)
  • Hybrid working – on‑site sessions with the option to continue online where appropriate
  • Background checks – DBS and regulatory checks covered by Priory
  • On‑site benefits – free or discounted parking and subsidised meals at many locations

If you’re committed to making a difference and want to work flexibly within a supportive, professional environment, we’d love to hear from you.
