Sessional Therapist. Partner with Priory – thinking about moving into private practice or already working independently? Priory offers you a self‑employed, sessional role with the support and security of regular referrals, so you can build your practice with confidence without the stress of going it alone.

Priory Hospital Ticehurst is seeking a Sessional Therapist to join our team. This role is self‑employed and sessional, offering flexibility around the centre’s needs and your availability. You will deliver one‑to‑one therapy, supporting clients to achieve their treatment goals, either face‑to‑face in our modern clinical environment or online.

At Priory, you’ll be part of a compassionate, multidisciplinary team committed to delivering personalised, evidence‑based care that helps people move forward with confidence and build healthier, more fulfilling lives. You will play a key role in patients’ recovery, contributing to assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic delivery, while working within strong clinical governance frameworks.

What we offer:

  • Steady patient flow – referrals provided, so you can focus on therapy rather than marketing
  • Credibility – provide and present progress reports to case conference meetings on a regular basis
  • Liaise with professional and clinical colleagues as part of the MDT, and assist with the analysis and reporting of statistical data and information for research and audit purposes, including innovation
  • Contribute to the development of Priory healthcare policies, procedures, processes and initiatives; ensure clinical practice complies with statutory regulations and current legislation, meets quality standards and delivers against key performance indicators
  • Regularly review the services and pricing points and adjust in accordance to the demand for the service; ensure patients are receiving a service that is value for their money and objectives are being met to help the success of the unit

Job Benefits:

  • Competitive sessional rates with active patient flow
  • Autonomy – you manage your own caseload
  • Flexible workload – typically 8–15 sessions per week (more or fewer by choice)
  • Hybrid working – on‑site sessions with the option to continue online where appropriate
  • Background checks – DBS and regulatory checks covered by Priory
  • On‑site benefits – free or discounted parking and subsidised meals at many locations

If you’re committed to making a difference and want to work flexibly within a supportive, professional environment, we’d love to hear from you.

How to prepare for a job interview at PRIORY GROUP

Know Your CBT Inside Out

Make sure you brush up on your Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques and principles. Be ready to discuss how you've applied these in past roles, especially in a CAMHS context. This will show your expertise and confidence in delivering effective therapy.

Understand the Priory Approach

Familiarise yourself with Priory's values and their approach to patient care. Highlight how your personal philosophy aligns with their commitment to evidence-based, personalised care. This will demonstrate that you're not just looking for any job, but that you're genuinely interested in being part of their team.

Prepare for Case Discussions

Since you'll be expected to present progress reports and contribute to case conferences, think about how you would approach discussing a case. Prepare examples of how you've collaborated with multidisciplinary teams in the past, as this will showcase your teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively.

Show Your Flexibility

Given the flexible nature of the role, be prepared to discuss your availability and how you can adapt to the centre’s needs. Share examples of how you've successfully managed your own caseload in previous roles, which will highlight your organisational skills and ability to work independently.
