Priory Hospital Barnt Green has an opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse with 6-12 months post registration experience and active NMC Registration to join our team on the Acute Ward. The working hours are fully rotational - days and nights, 37.5 hours long. Days - 07:30 AM, Nights - 19:30 PM - 08:00 AM RMN/LD Qualification.
Priory Hospital Barnt Green, located in Birmingham, is a purpose-built hospital providing mental health support for adults and young people, including specialist therapy and psychiatry, as well as private autism assessments for adults. It is accessible by public transport, with Barnt Green railway station approximately 1–2 miles from the hospital and local bus routes serving the surrounding area. Due to the semi-rural location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred nursing care by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans in partnership with patients, service users and their families.
- Coordinate and lead shifts as Nurse in Charge, delegate nursing duties effectively, supervise and support nursing and healthcare colleagues, and contribute to staff induction, student supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Promote clinical governance and quality improvement, ensure compliance with safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, medicines management, and the NMC Code, while maintaining positive relationships with patients, relatives and colleagues, responding professionally to concerns and supporting the safe management of challenging situations.
Qualified Registered RMN with 6-12 months post registration experience and active NMC Registration, having completed preceptorship or equivalent programme. Knowledge of NMC standards guidelines, requests and professional practices.
