Priory The Gables is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role.

Shift Patterns: 36 hours, 3 * 12 hours weekly shifts | 8am - 8pm / 8pm - 8am days/nights. £12.60 per hour.

The Gables is located in the Ashby area of Scunthorpe. It offers residential support for 12 people with complex mental health needs. We provide an integrated step-down service from hospital, locked rehabilitation and for individuals who may require a step up from the community. Our team are dedicated to working in partnership with the people we care for to take control and have belief in their potential, making positive outcomes and recovery a reality for everyone, regardless of age or presumed ability.

What you’ll be doing:

  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
