Priory Hospital Kneesworth House has an opportunity for a Physical Healthcare Nurse with 2 years' post-registration experience to join our team working in a clinical site and ward areas. Working Monday - Friday, 0900 - 1700.

Priory Hospital Kneesworth House, Royston, Hertfordshire is a level 2 rehabilitation service providing a range of specialist recovery pathways for adults within a purpose-built facility. It is accessible by public transport, with Royston railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the service and limited local bus links. Due to the location of the service, access to a vehicle or the ability to drive is recommended.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing.
  • The role involves ensuring patients receive comprehensive physical healthcare assessments on admission, reviewing relevant medical history and results, and accurately documenting and escalating patient information.
  • It includes supporting and training nursing staff in areas such as chronic disease management, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, wound care, physical observations and healthcare assessment tools.
  • Responsibilities include overseeing physical healthcare care plans, prescribing within competency, providing ECG, phlebotomy and wound care services, preparing clinical reports and discharge documentation, and liaising with primary care services to coordinate screening, vaccinations and ongoing health reviews.
  • The role also leads on infection prevention and control (IPC) audits, medical device management, smoking cessation, health education and public health initiatives, while working collaboratively with physical healthcare nurses across the region.
  • It also involves developing an annual health promotion programme, maintaining positive professional relationships, participating in clinical supervision and reflective practice, and adhering to Priory Group policies and the NMC Code.
