The Vines is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team.

Salary: £13.20 P/H + £1,000 Joining Bonus (T&Cs Apply)

Permanent: Full Time & Part Time Available

Shifts: 07:30am - 20:00pm & 19:30pm - 08:00am (Days, Nights & weekends Across 7 Days)

Full Driving licence required for this role.

The Vines is located in the beautiful town of Crowborough, East Sussex. It offers residential support for 12 males and females with an acquired brain injury (ABI), traumatic brain injury (TBI) and progressive neurological conditions (PNCs). This includes Parkinson’s disease, stroke and Korsakoff’s syndrome. We are on a private road, in a semi-rural location.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
  • We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
  • Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths.
  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Supporting with personal care tasks:

  • Washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Driving License required due to Location of site.
  • Be reliable, friendly and caring to help our residents achieve their everyday goals (including personal care).
  • Be able to support in house activities and hobbies.
  • Be attentive and inspire our service users to achieve their goals.
  • Be resilient and help manage some behaviours that challenge.
  • Have a great sense of humour.
