Ridgecott are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join them on a part‑time basis, working 20 hours per week. Ridgecott is a residential service located in Plympton, Devon, providing support for up to 10 adults with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health needs. Conveniently situated with access to a major bus route to Plymouth city centre and close to the A38 (from Exeter) and A386 (from Tavistock).

What you'll be doing

  • You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents.
  • Your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, but your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone.
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks and repairs to ensure a safe, comfortable, and high‑quality environment.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks (including fire alarms, vehicle checks, and property inspections) in line with company policy and statutory regulations.
  • Perform regular internal and external patrols, monitor building security, and maintain accurate incident logs to protect occupants and the property.
  • Adhere strictly to the Health & Safety at Work Act, identifying and reporting faults while working safely within your certified capabilities.
