Priory Horizon House has an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our team. This role is offered on a Full Time basis working 37.5 hours per week. Salary £27,195 annually. Horizon House, Nottingham is a residential addiction treatment service. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes nearby and Nottingham city centre approximately 2 miles from the service.

This is a new location opening as part of our existing service – offering bespoke treatment for a wide range of addictions in a calm, homely environment. Set within a supportive community, Horizon House will provide a safe haven away from the stresses of daily life, forming part of our wider network of residential addiction treatment homes across the UK. This is a non-private service. All patients are referred through established local healthcare pathways.

What you'll be doing

  • As an experienced therapist, support worker, therapy assistant, or administrator you will guide clients through daily group sessions, evening recovery-focused activities and psychoeducational workshops. Each element is designed to help clients develop practical coping strategies, build resilience and reduce their responses to everyday triggers.
  • Supervises and supports the delivery of person centred support and care, ensuring that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
  • To ensure all client documentation is updated as per policy and evolving needs.
  • Maintain high standards of record keeping and ensure the key worker process is embedded in practice.
  • To undertake key working responsibility for individual clients, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.
  • Ensure all external and internal reporting is completed as per deadline and report any exceptions to the site management team.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Basic numeracy skills.
  • Basic literacy skills.
  • Willingness to work towards a Diploma/NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Previous experience of working as a Senior Support Worker and/or leadership experience.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare, social care, or addiction support setting, ideally with individuals facing substance misuse challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work empathetically and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care or addiction support are preferred but not always mandatory.
  • Reliable, able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and have a genuine commitment to supporting clients through their recovery journey.

Desirable

  • Diploma/S/NVQ3 in Health and Social Care.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of our clients.
