Priory Hospital Norwich is looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a part-time/ 18.75 Hours role. Set in the Norfolk countryside a mile outside the town of Attleborough, Priory Hospital Norwich is a 24/7 mental health inpatient provision, which provides care for males and females, split across wards which care for differing levels of acuity. We accept referrals from across the UK and support the NHS with patient flow, by providing a pathway of care, suited to individual needs, including medium to high risk patients. Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas. Norwich also provides a 24/7 rapid response drug and alcohol service including detox.
What you'll be doing:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred occupational therapy assessments and interventions to support patients with complex mental health needs.
- Plan and facilitate engaging group and individual therapeutic activities that promote recovery, independence, and daily living skills.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and review effective care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, risk assessments, and outcome measures, ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Support patients in their rehabilitation and discharge planning, enabling a safe and successful transition back into the community.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Candidates should hold a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Previous experience working within mental health settings is highly desirable, ideally with exposure to inpatient or acute services.
- Applicants should demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to delivering person-centred care.
- An understanding of risk management, care planning, and relevant legislation in mental health practice will be essential.
