Priory Hospital Newbury is looking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse to join the team. Priory Hospital Newbury, located in Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community.

What you'll be doing:

  • You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service.
  • Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Resilience is key; no two days are the same!
  • Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
  • The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC registration, 6 to 12 months of post-registration experience, and completion of a preceptorship programme.
  • Knowledge of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, along with evidence of ongoing post-registration continuing professional development.
  • A positive attitude, a commitment to change, improvement, and quality, and the ability to develop and apply flexible, innovative approaches to practice.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, supported by at least six months of post-registration experience within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment and evidence of continued professional development in the relevant field.
