We’re looking for a Finance Administrator to join our team and play a key role in keeping our hospital’s payroll and financial operations running smoothly.
As a Finance Administrator, you’ll play an important role in the smooth running of the hospital, managing payroll, financial administration and site-based finance tasks. Working closely with HR, managers and the wider team, you’ll help ensure accurate records, timely payments and effective day-to-day financial processes. You will also be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, ensuring records and employee data are accurate and up to date.
- Manage invoices, purchase orders, petty cash, patient finances and other site financial transactions.
- Complete payroll and month-end checks, resolving discrepancies and responding to finance and employee queries.
- Liaise with HR and managers to ensure payroll changes, rosters, holidays and training are managed within required deadlines.
- Maintain accurate financial and administrative records, supporting audit and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate the site training plan and provide wider administrative support to the team as required.
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Experience using payroll software and Microsoft Office, with strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and respond effectively to time-critical situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships and communicate professionally with colleagues, suppliers and patients.
- A proactive, adaptable and positive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Due to the nature of the role, holding a full driving licence and being eligible to drive the hospital car would be desirable.
What we will give you in return:
- Free on-site parking
- Birthday Holiday - your birthday as an extra days annual leave
- Enhanced maternity pay
- Contributory pension scheme
- Flexible benefits including reduced rates and access to new schemes including gym membership, IT technology (laptops / tablets / smartphones) and Healthcare Cash Plan (Simply Health Scheme)
- Access to development opportunities
- Sponsorship of professional qualifications through our Individual Professional Development (IPD) panel
- Leadership & management development
- Long service award
- Refer a friend bonuses
Shortlisting may begin upon receipt of applications, and the Recruiting Manager may close the vacancy early if enough suitable candidates are identified.
