Priory Wellbeing Centre Canterbury is seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to build and manage an Outpatient CAMHS General Psychiatry private practice. The role supports our CAMHS structure, delivering outpatient treatment for depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, addictions, eating disorders, and other mental health conditions for adults, adolescents, children and couples. The centre is located in the heart of Canterbury’s city centre, offering easy access. We provide high‑quality support and rapid access to effective treatment. The successful candidate will receive a supported pathway into private practice, gaining self‑employment freedom with the backing of a leading mental healthcare provider.
What you'll be doing:
- Assess and treat a diverse mix of outpatient populations.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, nurses, healthcare assistants and dieticians.
- Engage in quality improvement and governance activities.
- Expand your practice in alignment with the site’s prestigious reputation.
- Network with professional colleagues and referral sources.
- Market yourself and your practice in conjunction with Priory, registering with private medical insurers and contributing information for our website.
- Maintain professional development and meet revalidation requirements.
What you'll bring to the role:
- GMC registration with relevant specialist registration.
- Experience in eating disorders, including at least 2 years operating in a comparable substantive role.
- A strong understanding of clinical governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Successful completion of a DBS (funded by Priory) and other regulatory checks.
