The Lodge is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team. The Lodge is located in Highbridge, Somerset. The home offers residential support for 12 males and females who are autistic or have mental health needs. Our team is dedicated to ensuring the people we care for are supported to live their best life, meeting their desired outcomes and goals. We can also support those who have a learning disability and mild to moderate behaviours that challenge.
What you'll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
- Take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- Ensure that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met, including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
- Support people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose.
- Complete daily administration including updating person-centred support & care plans, updating charts and completing accurate daily notes.
- Maintain professional relationships whilst developing a good rapport with the people who use our service, their family, colleagues, visitors and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards through own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Resilience is key as our work is rewarding but can be challenging.
- Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
- The ideal candidate will hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a related area, or an equivalent or higher recognised qualification.
- GCSEs or an NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths are also required.
- New recruits will be expected to begin the process of attaining the NVQ Level 2 qualification within six months of joining and complete it within a specified timeframe.
- Experience of working in a related environment is desirable, but not essential.
