Priory Hospital Altrincham is looking to recruit a clinical or counselling psychologist to join the team. This is a full time role of 37.5 hours based on site. Priory Hospital Altrincham provides expert treatment for a range of mental health conditions and addictions. The hospital is comprised of two inpatient units, providing specialist care for adults with a range of mental health challenges and addictions. Altrincham also provides established, evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and bipolar disorder.

What you'll be doing

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
  • You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
  • Receives and responds promptly to referrals undertaking assessments to determine and plan an effective therapy programme for assigned clients using appropriate and relevant treatments, activities and interventions.
  • Facilitates individual and group therapy sessions within the given field of therapy ensuring activities and interventions continue to meet the needs of the client, and are consistent with the provisions detailed in the client’s therapy plan.
  • Manages an assigned caseload within agreed timescales ensuring regular interaction and communication with clients, professional colleagues and clinical staff.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records in the form of case notes, case files, clinical reports, computerised information systems and other associated documentation presenting and sharing relevant information and knowledge concerning assigned clients with professional and clinical colleagues at regular MDT meetings.

What you'll bring to the role

This role requires someone who is a practitioner psychologist in a clinical role which requires a doctoral qualification and HCPC registration. A relevant Master’s degree as a minimum, along with a recognised postgraduate qualification and accreditation from the appropriate professional body (BABCP, BCP, BPS, or equivalent). Candidates must also have prior experience and practical exposure within their chosen field of therapy, demonstrating established competence and professional practice.
