Priory Hospital Nelson House is looking to recruit a Staff Nurse in Adult or Mental Health Nursing to join our team. Priory Hospital Nelson House, Gosport, Hampshire is a rehabilitation service offering level 1 and level 2 care for males with mental health conditions and complex needs, including behaviours that challenge and substance misuse issues. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along Rowner Road and Portsmouth Harbour railway station approximately 3–4 miles from the service.

What you'll be doing

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care. You will work effectively as a valued member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, promoting the best interests of clients and their carers while ensuring prescribed nursing care is delivered safely and effectively. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive care environment, exercising professional accountability and responsibility, and using your nursing skills, knowledge and expertise to respond effectively to changing environments. You will work within the scope of your professional practice and maintain high standards of care at all times.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Qualified Registered Nurse (RMN or RGN) with active NMC registration.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months post-registration experience working within a mental health or learning disabilities care environment.
  • If an RGN, experience working within a mental health setting is required.
  • Good understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements and professional standards.
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with a commitment to change, improvement and delivering high-quality care.
  • Ability to work flexibly and use innovative approaches to care.
