Priory Hospital Burston House is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team. Please note that sponsorship cannot be offered for this role. Priory Burston House, located in the historic market town of Diss, near the border of Suffolk, provides level 2 rehabilitation for male patients with a learning disability. Across rehabilitation and low secure care, our specialist learning disability service also cares for adults who may have complex mental health needs, including autism and personality disorders.
What you'll be doing
- You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service.
- Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as addressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
- Provide specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, and following training and competency attainment.
