Priory Old Vicarage is looking to recruit a Maintenance Assistant to join the team. This is a part time, 30 hour role. The Old Vicarage is located close to Dewsbury town. It offers residential support for seven adult males and females with a range of needs. This includes adults with a learning disability, individuals with mental health needs, and people on the autism spectrum.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the service and to support the wellbeing of our residents. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.

  • Maintains a well‑decorated, safe and comfortable environment throughout the site, in line with quality standards, and follows work processes which comply with statutory regulations.
  • Ensures that Priory minimum standards are delivered in all site areas in a timely and efficient manner, as part of a team.
  • Undertakes regular internal and external patrols of the unit and its grounds, ensuring that all the windows and doors are closed and locked as appropriate to the time of day.
  • Carry out compliance testing (i.e. fire alarms, bed inspections, vehicle checks) as instructed by the Maintenance Manager.

  • Basic numeracy and literacy required.
