We are looking for an experienced and committed Deputy Ward Manager to join our growing team here at Priory Arnold. We are excited to offer a position as Deputy Ward Manager on our Female PICU ward, however, we do ask that our staff teams are able to work flexibly across all wards at Priory Arnold to meet the needs of the service. We are seeking candidates who have leadership qualities, have a high level of empathy and who are keen to be part of developing our service to improve patient care. Across Priory Arnold we aim to offer therapeutic and meaningful engagement, care and treatment to a diverse range of individuals with varied mental health needs. As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will proactively engage with the team to encourage and embed positive and therapeutic processes to support our client group in a recovery focused and least restrictive manner. You will engage with the wider MDT, formulate care plans, risk assess, develop junior colleagues and support the wider leadership of the team to embed a positive culture, with the patient experience being a primary focus. We are investing in our work force and require an emotionally intelligent, driven and compassionate experienced RMN to reflect our Priory values.
The main responsibilities of the role include assessing, planning and implementing effective and person centred care and treatment plans. To maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical documentation and maintain safe record keeping. You will be responsible for safe monitoring, management and administration of medication as required by Priory policy. You should be aware of infection prevention and control processes and procedures and comply with the policy in relation to this. You will assess and interpret physical health observations and support patients in distress. You will be responsible for the safe application of relevant up-to-date legislation including the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, DoLs and safeguarding etc. As a Deputy Ward Manager you will support the Ward Manager in the operational and clinical day to day running’s of the ward, ensuring processes are followed in line with policy, providing supervision and supporting oversight of the ward. You will provide clinical leadership, participate in quality and safety initiatives and support ensuring of best practice, evidenced base and regulatory compliance.

Priory Hospital Arnold provides acute adult mental health services, delivered in partnership with Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust at our purpose built facility in Arnold. We work closely with referring Trusts to achieve minimum lengths of stay, and are able to provide an extension to NHS care pathways during times of fluctuating demand. The service offers a multidisciplinary team approach, working collaboratively to support patients through periods of crisis.
