Fern Lodge is looking to recruit a Part-Time Support Worker to join their team.

Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour

Hours: Part-Time, 21.5 hours per week

Shift Pattern: 3 shifts per week, 10am - 6pm. Weekend work is included.

Priory Fern Lodge is located in the historic Roman city of Chester, in Cheshire. Our home is set in a suburban area of the city, off a main road, and offers residential and nursing support for 17 males and females with mental health needs. Our team are dedicated to offering a calm, peaceful and homely environment, with 24-hour nursing care. We are able to support people from a variety of backgrounds, including those who have been in hospital, and people who are moving into our home from the community. Our focus is on stabilising our residents' mental health, and supporting them to develop their daily living skills.

What you’ll be doing

  • As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
