About the Role

Priory Hospital Chelmsford is seeking a Sessional Fitness Instructor – to join our team.

This is a self-employed, sessional role offering flexibility around the centre’s needs and your availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver face-to-face healthcare training sessions.
  • Facilitate practical skills training and assess learner competence.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and learner support.
  • Maintain accurate assessment and attendance records.
  • Ensure training is delivered in line with current legislation, professional standards, and awarding body requirements.
  • Promote best practice in patient care, safeguarding, infection prevention, and health and safety.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 2 Gym Instructing qualification and a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, both of which should be CIMSPA approved.
  • Teaching, training, or assessor qualification (or substantial experience delivering training).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current healthcare practice and legislation.
  • A commitment to delivering an outstanding learner experience.

Desirable

  • Experience delivering accredited healthcare qualifications.
  • Experience with practical assessments and quality assurance processes.
  • Current registration with a relevant professional body, where applicable.
