We are looking for a reliable and caring Chef to join our team at The Vines in Crowborough, East Sussex. This is a weekend role (Saturday and Sunday, 10am–5:30pm) within a small residential service supporting adults with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions. Set in a peaceful semi-rural location, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and making a positive difference.
What you'll be doing
- Plan and deliver all aspects of food preparation and cooking, ensuring meals meet dietary and nutritional requirements.
- Prepare, cook, and serve food and beverages to a consistently high standard.
- Supervise catering support staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Maintain compliance with ‘Assured Safe Catering’ policies and all relevant regulations.
- Manage stock ordering and rotation efficiently to minimise waste and control costs.
- Create varied, nutritious, and appealing menus that support healthy eating and meet specific dietary needs.
- Monitor and manage the catering budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and high-quality ingredients.
- Work closely with the line manager to deliver best value while maintaining excellent standards.
