The Priory Highfields is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role at £13.45 per hour. Day shifts are from 08:00 to 20:30 (37.5 hours per week worked over 7 days). Due to a genuine occupational requirement, you will ideally hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence for this particular role. Highfields is located in Chasetown, Staffordshire. We offer residential support for eight people who are autistic or have a learning disability. Highfields is on the edge of a suburban area, close to a local Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We want to provide person-centred support to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for, enabling them to have a healthy, happy and independent life, within a safe and welcoming home.

What you'll be doing:

  • You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents' wellbeing.
  • You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
  • You will provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
  • Providing assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording physical and emotional well-being, and quickly reporting any changes to senior staff.
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
