Priory Hospital Solihull is looking to recruit a Catering Assistant to join the team. This role is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week. Flexible working rota - shifts to be discussed at interview. Must be able to work weekends and bank holidays. Must have a full driver's licence and drive. Located in Meriden, Warwickshire, Priory Hospital Solihull is a 31-bedded hospital supporting the NHS by offering level 2 rehabilitation services for males.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients.
  • Assists catering staff with both the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
  • Under direction, takes responsibility for parts of the catering operation.
  • As part of the catering team, ensure the kitchen and associated areas meet operational hygiene standards and comply with the company’s Assured Safe Catering policies and procedures.
  • Amends the services to suit the needs of the site.
  • Reduce the amount of waste to gain a greater value for money.

  • While experience in a catering environment is not essential, full training will be provided.
  • The role involves responding to routine enquiries from colleagues and occasionally residents.
  • Working within a busy kitchen environment using a variety of equipment, the position includes many repetitive tasks that require sustained physical effort.
