Elm Tree is looking to recruit a Bank Support Worker to join the team. This is a Bank role. Elm Tree House is located in the town of Keynsham, near to Bristol. We offer residential support for eight males and females who are autistic or have a learning disability, including people who are deaf. Our service is in a suburban area, close to the countryside.
What you’ll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our resident wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As Bank Support Worker, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
Through your own professional behaviour, including adhering to policies and procedures, you contribute to the maintenance of safety, security and confidentiality standards. To undertake key working responsibility for individual service users, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.
Innovation: The role holder should have a flexible and innovative approach to their work and be able to facilitate and support service users in decision making, promoting choice and involvement at all times. The role holder should present the service in a positive light and should be proactive in making suggestions for how to improve the service.
What you’ll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. NVQ2 in Health & Social Care or related area or equivalent or higher recognised qualification. GCSE or NVQ2 in English and Maths. N.B. It is not anticipated that all new recruits to the role will have NVQ2 qualification but will commence the attainment process within six months of joining and will have a specific time period in which to qualify. Experience of working in a related environment is desirable.
