Priory Hospital Bristol has an opportunity for a Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team on our mixed Acute ward. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic and passionate multidisciplinary team, helping to shape a new service from the ground up while delivering outstanding, recovery-focused care to adults experiencing acute mental health needs.
Priory Hospital Bristol, Stapleton, Bristol is a specialist mental health and addiction treatment service for individuals, families and couples. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes serving Stapleton and Bristol Parkway railway station approximately 2–3 miles from the hospital.
You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to supporting people's wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future.
- Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care by assessing, planning, delivering and regularly reviewing care plans in partnership with patients, families and carers.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and external professionals, communicate effectively, and accurately document and escalate concerns relating to patient wellbeing, incidents or staffing.
- Take responsibility as Nurse in Charge, Bed Manager or Site Coordinator when required, prioritising and delegating duties appropriately while maintaining a safe environment.
- Support and supervise junior, agency and student nurses, contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement, and maintain professional development through mandatory training, supervision and reflective practice.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, medicines management, company policies and the NMC Code, while responding appropriately to challenging behaviour and promoting positive outcomes for patients.
Qualified Registered Adult Nurse with 6-12 months post registration experience with active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship or equivalent programme. Minimum 6-12 months post registration experience within Mental Health/Learning Disability Nursing with evidence of continued professional development in relevant field.
