Priory Hospital Bristol is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team on the Private Addictions Ward. This part-time role offers flexible hours and a compensation of £176,000 FTE. Based in Bristol, this position provides the opportunity to work within a well-established service specialising in the treatment of complex mental health and addiction disorders. Our programmes are grounded in evidence-based practice and focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the recruitment, induction, and ongoing development of medical staff
- Overseeing appraisals, revalidation, and performance management processes
- Ensuring compliance with clinical governance, healthcare policy, and best practice standards
- Contributing to strategic decision-making as part of the Senior Management Team
- Maintaining effective medical cover, including out-of-hours and leave arrangements
- Leading on investigations, complaints, and incident management
- Driving continuous improvement through learning from incidents, feedback, and outcomes
- Managing your own clinical caseload and maintaining high standards of care
- Representing the hospital with external stakeholders, commissioners, and partners
What you'll bring to the role:
- MRCPsych (or equivalent)
- CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
- Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status
