Priory Hospital Woodbourne is looking to recruit a Staff Nurse to join the team. Our dedicated facility, The Manor Ward, provides expert care for a range of needs, including alcohol and drug addiction, behavioural addictions, and a wide range of mental health conditions, within a safe and supportive environment. Across both services, our teams are committed to delivering exceptional standards of care, placing you at the heart of your treatment journey and helping you achieve the best possible outcomes. All treatment is tailored to your individual needs and structured in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines.
What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
- Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patient's named nurse.
- Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
- Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patient’s condition and needs.
- Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers.
What you'll bring to the role
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6–12 months of post-registration experience, holding an active NMC registration and having successfully completed a preceptorship programme.
- They will possess a strong understanding of NMC guidelines, requirements, and professional practices, alongside evidence of ongoing continuing professional development.
- Candidates should demonstrate a positive attitude and a commitment to change, improvement, and high-quality care, with the ability to adopt flexible and innovative approaches to practice.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Applicants should also have a minimum of six months’ post-registration experience within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities care environment, supported by continued professional development within a relevant field.
