Apple Mews has an opportunity for a Unit Manager to join our nursing team. Apple Mews is located in the city of Armagh, in Northern Ireland. Our home offers residential and nursing support for 30 adults with a range of needs. This includes people with a learning disability, individuals with physical health needs, and autistic people.
What you'll be doing
- As Unit Manager, you will be part of the Senior Nursing Team, assisting the Service Manager and working collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary team to ensure a high-quality patient focused service is provided.
- You will act as a role model for the wider nursing team and exemplify best practice at all times.
- Assist with the clinical management of the unit, maintaining high standards of nursing practice and promoting the philosophy of patient and family centred care.
- Support the Service Manager in undertaking personal development reviews, risk assessments and management, managing clinical incidents, department audits, data collection for nursing indicators.
- Ensure communication with nurses and healthcare assistants is accurate and is patient centred and safety huddles are carried out on a daily basis.
- Manage challenging and difficult situations with a professional and emotionally appropriate response, ensuring the needs of the patient remain paramount.

- Assessment of new patients who have been referred to the service.
