The role involves effectively managing the ward and its resources, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and a suitable skill mix are maintained through efficient rota management, annual leave planning, and training arrangements. The post holder will have full oversight of the nursing staff rota, be responsible for ensuring staffing standards are maintained, and ensure all nursing team members receive regular clinical supervision, appraisals, meet CPD requirements, and complete mandatory training, while proactively addressing any development or performance concerns.

The role also requires recognising and rewarding positive staff performance, acting as a highly visible role model and leader who promotes a culture of learning, professionalism, and continuous development. In addition, the post holder will disseminate, implement, and monitor compliance with relevant hospital, divisional, and group policies and statutory requirements. You will join the team on addiction and rehab Ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Hold current professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) along with Mental Health.
  • Experience in an addiction and rehab setting is highly desirable for this role, bringing valuable insights into managing complex clinical environments, and a proactive approach to delivering safe, high-quality care.
