This position is designed to coordinate and develop a designated Key Stage under the direction of the Head of Faculty. You will play a vital role in driving improvements in standards, attainment, and progress while ensuring excellent teaching and learning outcomes across the department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, review, and implementation of the maths curriculum and assessment framework for your designated Key Stage.
- Monitoring data to plan targeted interventions and ensuring students meet or exceed their target grades.
- Monitoring the quality of teaching through lesson observations, work scrutiny, and data analysis.
- Overseeing exam preparation (including mocks and revision) and coordinating "P6" and lunchtime interventions or enrichment activities.
- Guiding colleagues by sharing best practices, leading moderation, and mentoring ECTs or trainee teachers when appropriate.
- Contributing to the School Improvement Plan and staying up-to-date with national developments in Maths education.
About you
You should possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Strong subject and curriculum knowledge of mathematics, up to and including higher GCSE.
- A proven track record of securing excellent student outcomes and experience as a highly effective classroom practitioner.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to lead and support a team.
- A dedicated commitment to raising standards and supporting students at risk of underachievement.
