Priory Cotswold Lodge is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time position with a shift pattern of earliest, lates and long days at £13.45 per hour. Cotswold Lodge is located in New Romney, Kent, offering residential support for eight men with a primary learning disability diagnosis. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that all the people we care for have a voice that is heard and that they receive the support, encouragement and empowerment to live the lives that they choose.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents’ wellbeing, taking a personalised approach using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence.
- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated.
- Provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, reporting any changes to senior staff.
- Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
