Priory North London is looking to recruit Healthcare Assistants to join their team. This is a full-time role.
Salary and Hours: £13.45 per hour, 37.5 hours per week, mixture of day and night shifts. Days: 7.45am to 20.15pm. Nights: 19.45pm to 08.15am. Must be flexible on shifts.
Located in London, in a peaceful and secluded part of Southgate, Priory Hospital North London is set within a striking Grade I listed building, overlooking beautiful parklands. It is one of the UK’s leading centres for the treatment of a range of mental health difficulties, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Since North London first opened its doors in 1986, we have worked tirelessly to establish our excellent reputation as a specialist provider of mental health care.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients' wellbeing.
- Assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.
- Providing practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities.
- Observing and monitoring the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
- Providing specific interventions with patients as delegated by a Registered Nurse, following training and competency attainment.
- Contributing to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Participating in regular ward meetings and attending other meetings as requested.
- Assisting in the maintenance of stock levels, including pharmaceutical products.
- Assisting in the maintenance of ward cleanliness and tidiness and adhering to infection control policy and procedures at all times.
- Developing and maintaining a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors.
- Helping promote and maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
- Ensuring service users are gaining a quality service that is value for their money.
- Receiving and conveying information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner.
