Blair House is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full-time role at £13.45 per hour. Day shifts are from 08:00 to 20:30, including weekends on a rota. Blair House is located in Billinghay and offers residential and nursing support for 27 people with a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are in a semi-rural location, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Our team is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, helping them to achieve positive outcomes. We want to help each person we care for to have a healthy, happy and independent life within a safe and welcoming home.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents’ wellbeing.
- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans.
- Undertake routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- Provide support with day-to-day activities while encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Help people reach their potential through both practical and emotional support.
- Support with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and preparation of food.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Provide assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.
