Apple Mews Care Home is looking to recruit Support Workers to join their team. Full-time or Part-time role - Shifts: 8 am – 8 pm, 8 pm to 8 am, 8 am to 2 pm. Minimum 24 hours per week (2 shifts). Pay Rate - £13.45. Welcome bonus - £1000. Apple Mews is located in the city of Armagh, in Northern Ireland. Our home offers residential and nursing support for 30 adults with a range of needs, including people with a learning disability, individuals with physical health needs, and autistic people. Our team is dedicated to creating a safe, homely environment for every person we care for.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
What you'll be doing:
- You will be part of a compassionate team committed to our residents' wellbeing.

- As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of residents.
- You will provide support with day-to-day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating, and personal care.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning, and movement of individuals.
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities.
