Overview
As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents. You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you\’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.
Responsibilities
- Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
- Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
- Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
- Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
- Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
- Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
The ideal candidate
Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking to recruit male support workers for this particular role.

Location and about Priory
Mount View House is located in the village of Syke near Rochdale. We are in a beautiful rural setting on the edge of Whitworth Moor in the South Pennines. We offer residential support to eight autistic people. Although primarily for over 18s, we can support those who are 17 moving from children\’s services. We also support autistic people that have a learning disability, or may present behaviours that challenge. Our goal is to support those we care for to create and achieve goals to meet their own expectations to lead a fulfilled and enriched life. We recognise that autistic people have the same aspirations and expectations as everyone else and should be empowered to achieve these.
